Privacy Policy

We built GIF Safe on one principle: your files are yours. This policy explains exactly what we collect — which is nothing.

The short version

GIF Safe processes everything inside your browser. No files, no personal data, and no usage data ever reaches our servers — because we don't run any file-processing servers. Your media stays on your device, always.

1. Information We Collect

We collect no personal information. GIF Safe does not ask for your name, email, phone number, or any other identifying details. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and no forms that transmit data.

Your files — videos, GIFs, or any media — are processed entirely within your browser using the Web APIs built into your device. Nothing is ever uploaded to external servers.

2. Cookies & Tracking

GIF Safe does not use tracking cookies, analytics scripts, advertising pixels, or any third-party monitoring tools. We do not track your behavior across sessions.

Your browser may store a small preference (e.g. light/dark theme) in localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us.

3. Third-Party Services

We use a small number of third-party services to deliver the website itself:

  • Google Fonts — used to load the Inter typeface. Google may log a request when the font files are fetched. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Vercel — our hosting provider. Vercel may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, page requested) as part of its infrastructure. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.

4. Your Files

All file processing — video decoding, frame extraction, GIF encoding — happens entirely inside your browser. Your files are never transmitted over the network to any server operated by GIF Safe or any third party. Once you close or refresh the page, all file data is cleared from memory.

5. Children's Privacy

GIF Safe does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Because we collect no personal data at all, our service is safe for all ages.

6. Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it periodically. Continued use of GIF Safe after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
